Vespa Scooter And Electric Guitar, Oh My

Good morning my little Painkillers, and welcome to another Anime Wednesday. For those of you that are new to this, first off, welcome, glad that you found your way here. Second, here is where I tell you about a short anime series that you may or may not be familiar with, in hopes that you go and experience it for the first time, or again. Today post is going to be really short, since this anime is only six episodes long. Time to sit back, strap in, and enjoy the ride of FLCL!

This show revolves around a 12 year old boy name Naota Nandaba. His life will never be the same, after Haruko Haruhara literally ran over Naota, and cracks him in the head with her guitar. Now poor Naota has to not only dead with Haruko, he also has to deal with giant robots, the police, and just life in general.

The best way to describe this show is crawling inside the head of Keith Richards head, after he did a bunch of drugs. The show is all over the place, but not only does it make sense, it is really well done overall. This show was shown on Cartoon Network in 2003, and is currently on Hulu. Hopefully you will enjoy these episodes, because season 2 and season 3 are expected to drop in 2018!

“Look at this. It’s empty, there’s no brain. Did you loose it somewhere?”

Toad Power!

Are you ready? No, I said are you ready? Nope, because it’s Monday once again. Just like no one is ready for Asuka, no one is ready for Mondays. Fear not my little Painkillers, the Captain is here to make your Monday, a bit more bearable. So like always, it time to grab a buddy, and you choose if you want to hook up either your NES or your Sega Genesis (I’ll be talking about the Genesis copy, since that’s the one I played, and they are both the same.), and it’s time to play some Battletoads!

Those of you that are familiar with this game, already know that I could have easily wrote this for our No Save November series going on this month, due to the extreme difficulty of this game, and of course not using a save or password feature. Crazy part is, the Sega Genesis version of the game, is said to be less difficult than the NES version, and I still found it hard as hell. Depending on your skill level as a gamer, these 13 levels can either be a cake walk, or your never ending nightmare.

The plot of the game, maybe the only simple thing in this game. Pimple (one of the battletoads) and Princess Angelica have been kidnapped by the Dark Queen, and it’s up to Rash, and Zitz to rescue them. You play as either Rash or Zitz, depending on if you are player one or player two, and play through 13 of the craziest levels in gaming. It’s not only the fact that most of the levels are crazy hard, it doesn’t help matters that you are able to accidentally hit your ally (or on purpose if you are a real jerk). Also, say if one of you happens to die, and needs to continue, well now you are both screwed, because you now both have to restart the entire level over. Yeah, have fun with that.

Overall, Battletoads is a fun and good game. It will not only put all of your gaming skills to the test, it will also put your friendship to the test as well. Will you and your friend survive the Battletoad onslaught, or will your friendship be ruined over this, like other friendships have been over that classic board game did. You know which one I’m talking about. The one with the old guy with the top hat and the monocle.

Time to Test Your Jitsu

So here we are again! It’s Friday, you just got home from work, and you are trying to avoid the few friends that you have, because they still want to go out and eat and drink pumpkin flavored bullshit. So what now? Do you want to play a game that is hard as hell, and you wished had a save feature? You do? Great, go grab your Genesis, and prepare yourself for the fuckery know as Revenge of the Shinobi. Thanks, a lot No Save November!

Cute but Deadly

There are many things that Captain Pain enjoys in life. Two of them are weapons and women. For this Anime Wednesday, there are plenty of weapons in this series, but the girls are way, way, way too young for the Captain… Anyway, let’s explore the two seasons (yes two seasons, the first season only has 12 episodes and season 2 has 15, so it’s still a short series despite having multiple seasons) of Gunslinger Girl.

Time to Kick It Old School!

Monday is here once again, ah shit! Yes, I know, I know, so today with all the recent talk about the 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw coming in January, it seems like a good time to talk about some old school wrestling games. That’s right, you read that correctly, Captain Pain is giving you a Two For One Special. Now it’s time once again to grab your buddy, dust off your PS1, and let’s play some WWF Wrestlemania the arcade game, and WWF In Your House the arcade game.
