And layin’ it on thiiiiiiick~
Good morning my loyal Painkillers, and welcome to another edition of Grab A Buddy Monday. WrestleMania is days away, so what better way to get into the mood then by talking about the game that lead up to the WWE 2K games that come out every year. So its time to grab your buddy, hook up your PlayStation, and its time to play SmackDown!
This game came out in the year 2000. It was the first WWF/E game for the PlayStation that was published by THQ. The series ran up to 2013, when THQ went belly up, and 2K Games brought the rights, and renamed it WWE 2K. So enough of the history, let’s talk about the game.
The game features many from the roster of that time, guys like Austin, Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, and many others. Compare to the 2K games of now, there is nothing speical about this game. This was the top wrestling game of its time. It may not of had the things like voice overs, and commentary, but it made it up by having easy to use controls, and having enough match choices that the game wouldn’t get stale. If you have played this game before, its a wonderful trip down memory lane. If you haven’t, then its time to see where your favorite wrestling game came from. Until next time everyone!
