Time To Hero Up!

Good evening Painkillers, and welcome to another addition of Grab A Buddy Monday. Today’s game seemed like the best time to do this game. Since Infinity Wars is currently the number one movie in the universe, it only seems fitting that I tell you about a game that somewhat shares a story line with the movie. So it’s that time to grab your buddy, hook up your PlayStation one, and it’s time to play Marvel Superheroes.

This arcade game hit systems in 1997, and it somewhat follows “The Infinity Gauntlet” storyline from the Marvel Universe. The heroes and the villains are fighting over the Infinity Gems, and the main villain of the game Thanos, wants the gems to take over the universe. The heroes and villains in the game are; Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Spiderman, Magneto, Dr Doom, Juggernaut, Black heart, Psylocke, Shuma-Gorath, and of course Thanos.

The gameplay is very similar to most of the Capcom fighting games. The twist is the use of the Infinity Gems. I’m not going to go through all the gems, cause we should all know them all by now. Most of the gems react differently depending on the character using the gem. The Soul Gem, on the other hand slowly starts to refill a character’s health bar. Best thing about the gems are even if one character starts off with a gem, you can always knock it out of them, collect it, and use it for yourself.

If you and your buddy ever played a Marvel Vs Capcom game before, then you know what to expect. It is fun playing as some of your favorite heros and villains in the Marvel Universe. It maybe old, but it is still good. Until next time Painkillers.
